Bing vs. Google: Search Engine Controversy

“Who will compete with Osu this week?”

“I don’t know. Let me go to Google.”

Although Google is the only search engine in Webster that appears as a speech content, this search engine giant I have felt the pressure from the competitor Bing. The first time we smelled Bing came from the TV show of the Word Association. It made us laugh, but it made us think: What is this?

So we searched on Google. What we found was a sleek screen and a search bar, which left us with a new question: How is this different from Google?

What’s the difference?

First of all, the difference between Bing’s homepage and Google is that its ever-changing photos keep it interesting. However, Google’s pure screen also has its advantages. The all-white appearance is more fashionable, making it look less messy. Users feel that they are starting from a brand new one.

Once a search is performed, Google will list a series of results from the most relevant to the least relevant. Google’s new instant function attempts to provide users with more search engines and make relevant search engines more relevant. Bing’s approach is slightly different, dividing answers into instant answers, deep links, multimedia, and other related categories. This will target user results and make it easier to convert. Google provides result filtering options on its SERP, but users must manually filter the results.

When it comes to Google and Bing, it’s hard to say which is “better”. In the end, it depends on what you are looking for in search.

Not just the result

if you want to get better results, Google prevailed on the extra “stuff.” Things like Gmail, Google Docs, Google Talk and Google Reader make it easier for Google to retain users. If you are chatting with a friend on GChat and need to find some information before sharing a presentation of Google Docs, then Google will undoubtedly be in your head.

Stay in SERP

Many users find the ability to stay in touch with their SERPs is important. Bing won the favor of these users because it provides a way to preview the results without leaving the SERP. You can even share the preview results via Facebook, Twitter or email. Bing’s video search function plays the video when the cursor passes over the video, so users can see the video content without opening a larger video or leaving the SERP. Similarly, after selecting a result, its image result will display a result bar on the left side of the screen. Although Google is good at filtering videos and pictures, Bing keeps users on the SERP, which makes them very happy.

Number of results

Google in the overall number of search results still exceeded Bing. However, this does not mean that every result is as relevant as that provided by Bing.

Travel search

largely better than the Google search options. Bing has a separate travel search service program that provides all the information you need to book air tickets or hotels. Google only sends users to new travel sites such as Expedia or Travelocity.

Mobile search

in the field of mobile search, Google has topped the list. With mobile search becoming the main search method, Google wins in this regard. Being the default search engine for the latest smartphones has its advantages.

Map

location search, Google and Bing impasse. Although Google was the first company to launch maps and street views, Bing’s maps and bird’s eye views are back. In the final analysis, location search depends on brand loyalty.

So, which is better? Bing and Google both have victories, but which one is better? Again, it depends on what you want. If you like more time in your SERPs and target results, Bing is your first choice. However, if you want to chat, share documents, send emails and get more results, Google can meet your needs. In essence, Bing does a better job in search, but Google does more.
