Keyword optimization and directory submission.

The directory helps you rank by linking to your website. This is because most modern search engines calculate the value and ranking of pages based on links. Although links are usually not the only factor in website ranking, they are an important factor. When submitting to the directory it is important to remember that the search engine will analyze the anchor text, description, importance of the directory page, and age of the link.

Before you start any activity that ranks in search engines, you should do a lot of research on your keywords. Using various keyword suggestion tools can give you a good understanding of commonly used search phrases. Sometimes you will be surprised by what happened! As you read the rest of this article, remember the first 5 or so keyword phrases.

Search engines will analyze the anchor text, which is one reason you need a good knowledge of your best keyword phrases. When you submit to a search engine, it is important to rotate the anchor text so that you do not have hundreds of links with the same structure. All links to a website are obvious spam to any search engine. Rotate between the first 3 search phrases in a specific domain. Use the fourth or fifth search phrase every once in a while. This will make your presence in the directory look more natural and therefore more valuable to search engines.

The description of the directory listing is also important. Google and Yahoo can detect the surrounding text and associate the descriptive text with the link you want. However, as mentioned above, hundreds of links with the same 3 words are spam, and hundreds of descriptions with the same 30 words are unnatural. Try to use 5 different descriptions and rotate them. Be sure to use the keyword phrases in the above research (try not to use the same keywords as the anchor text). This gives your directory links and descriptions a good level of keyword density.

Deep linking is an important part of any link building activity and should not be ignored. It is very unusual for a website with very good content to never get any links. Therefore, when submitting to the directory linking to several of your main subsections, this adds to the natural appearance of your link profile. The same rules for creating anchor text and descriptions apply here.

Not all directories are created equal, it is a fact that many people do not remember to pursue in their rankings. Before you put the link in the table of contents, check its location first. During a link building activity recently, I purchased an expensive (around $100) submission directory. A few weeks later, I happened to return to this directory to submit another website. I browsed the part of the last link I submitted and found that this link had almost no value. This page has about 80 outgoing links, and the PR is 1. Although PR is usually not a good way to check whether a website is worth submitting to a directory, you still want to see at least a 3 when you pay that much money. So as a good rule of thumb, check where your link will be placed before submitting.

Google likes old websites and also likes old links. They won’t see you escape from the sandbox until 6 months ago. The link age should also be different, otherwise it looks unnatural, this is a way for directories to work well. The standard catalogue process requires a complete process from one day to several months before a website is reviewed. This allows your links to have a different appearance age wise. Directory submission is a great way to create high-quality links at a cost. These links can usually be formatted to meet our needs as webmasters; after all, we are the main customer base for almost all directories. Follow basic anchoring and descriptive text rotation techniques, and you will surely see the results.
