Ten of the most common SEO mistake

I called Chris Deep Ross, an Australian SEO firm Kanga Internet manager. As part of this organization, my main goal is to improve the SEO of the Joomla website and dynamic content management system. This article aims to provide a wide range of search engine optimization suggestions for website owners, website designers or webmasters. Search engine optimization is not to be afraid, but to embrace.

The first thing to note is that search engine optimization is not a general method, it is a separate set of actions, executed on each page, to suit the specific goals of the page. At Kanga Internet, we decompose the customer’s website into specific and important pages according to the keywords we have determined through research, and then write the first few pages to adapt to these keywords. We associate the page title, page file name (buy blue widgets.html), H1 tags, description and keyword meta tags, and page content to tell stories that match these identified keywords. It is also important to ensure that the page complies with W3 and is free of errors.

Here are the top ten mistakes I’ve seen people make when they try to self-optimize their websites time and time again.

Bad headline. The title is the most important thing on a web page. Search engine spiders first see the title on your page, and then make an overall assessment of it based on that. They scan the page to ensure that the content of the page matches the title, and then assign rankings based on these matches and their best match. Title tags are the best way to inform search engines about the content of a page. If used properly, they play an important role in rankings. It’s important to put the main keywords you have identified in the title and make sure to follow the rules of leftward and stemming-the leftward rule, the closer the word is to the left of the sentence, the more important the stem, and the stemming can be The place where the words are related, but can be related to the words in the middle, that is: when the stem is added to the stem, the big blue widget will allow the big part. It is very important to make sure that your title matches your page content, description and meta keywords, and is unique to your website. The title and content of each page should be unique, otherwise it will be listed as a supplement.

Filename of the page. It is important if you are using dynamic websites like Joomla or other content management systems that a search engine friendly URL translator is installed. Because I use Joomla every day I will describe what I mean relating to Joomla. In Joomla (and most other dynamic websites) URL’s like the normal Joomla URL “index.php?option=com_mtree&task=listcats&cat_id=1766&Itemid=35” drive the website. The problem with these URL’s is that they are unintelligible by humans and also by search engines. Installing a search engine friendly URL component will change these pages to something more meaningful and also including your keywords in these page names can help with SEO. The newly transformed search engine friendly URL would look like this “buy-blue-widgets.html”. If you do not have a dynamic website then ensuring your page name is short, to the point and contains your main keywords for that page maybe with a call to action like “buy” and “blue widgets”.

Duplicate or wrong content. Ensuring that your content is unique and relevant is crucial to the success of search engine optimization. Usually, websites just copy content or introduce plagiarized content from other websites. My experience is that these sites fail miserably in search engine rankings. Write some decent and unique content, or maybe search online and find someone who can actually write your decent and unique content for a fee. Make it good, friendly and unique content that people want to link to. If you are listed in Google’s supplemental index, make sure that your title, description, meta keywords, and page content are unique. This is the only way to drag them out of the supplementary index.

There is no link. Some of the most important web search engine optimization techniques have been covered, we now look at the link, which is an off-page search engine optimization concept. For everyone or website that links to your website, this is your website vote. If the pagerank of the website that links to you is high, its weight is even greater. Simply having good keywords, titles and text on your page is only part of SEO. Just because you have created a unique and perfectly optimized web page does not mean that you will automatically get a decent page ranking. In order to ensure the success of SEO, you must create incoming links-this may be the most difficult part of SEO, because you are effectively selling your web pages on the Internet. One way to get instant links (within a few weeks) is to pay for text ads-a search on Google will reveal some of the best text link services. Link exchange is bad, because every vote you get is sent out. If you happen to link to a “blacklist” site, then Google will punish you heavily. One-way links are the ultimate search engine optimization link activity, so look for directories (either paid or free, you need to evaluate), in forums, write articles, submit them, and ask other friendly webmasters if they can help you with A link. The best way to get links is to have unique content that other people really want to link to.

Incoming link anchor text. After pointing out the importance of getting incoming links, it must now be pointed out that the text to which these links are anchored is also important. The text should target your main keywords and the web pages they point to should have those relevant and prominent keywords. The website you link to should be related to your website. Or my open website in Melbourne, or my website in Melbourne, or an example of my own website design. Getting 1,000 links from casino related sites will not do any good for my site, nor will it rank higher for “web design” keyword search terms. Use common sense when obtaining links.

Wrong internal page link. We return to the page factor, you can work on your website. It is important to ensure that the anchor text that links to pages within your own website is relevant to the target page. Make sure that each link also fills in the title tag. You have maximum control over the links from your own website, so make sure they are relevant and the link title and copy on the page match the main keywords of the target page.

Live link. It is good to use some external tools, such as the link checker provided by w3org. I recommend using as many tools as possible to ensure that all links on your website are live and effective, rather than sending people to a 404 error page. It is also very important to check and ensure that the page markup (html, xhtml) is valid, so W3 also provides a checking tool. Take advantage of these two freely available tools.

impatient. Search engine optimization is not a short-term task. This is a continuous improvement, one improvement after another, hour after hour of work on your website. Make unique content, check, verify, list and check search engines, and make sure they are listed correctly. Do not think that you can completely optimize your website, and do not think that it will stay indefinitely because you are the number one person in search keywords. Search engine companies are always changing their ranking and rating systems, and with this, there are always others out there trying to get your first name. Constantly seek improvement and learning. Don’t sit idly by and wait for others to win the championship. Be proactive, look for new content, links, and stay ahead.

Keyword selection. This proved to be a very common mistake in search engine optimization for beginners. People usually choose keywords based on keywords they think are correct, but is this what people really search for when they are looking for your product or service? Usually the answer to this question is no. This is an important step to do correct keyword research and make sure you have the correct keyword list before optimizing any web pages. Using overture, googleadwords and some other paid keyword tools such as WordTracker (the default standard for keyword search) is essential to successfully find good keywords. When they are looking for a product or service you provide, it is important to locate your target market and figure out what they are searching for. Do your research and be as specific as possible while still being broad enough to capture some high keyword traffic.

Keyword spam and padding. If you sell “blue gadgets,” then every page of your website does not need to have “blue gadgets” in the title, description, and meta tags. Try to analyze your website objectively. Focus the page on a specific keyword group identified from the keyword list. Sometimes it is better to find a niche market locally. So, for example, “Buy BlueWidgets Australia” or “Buy Blue Widgets Melbourne”. These will be examples of good second-level or even third-level search keyword phrases, but you can get some good sales with these niche terms because the searcher’s goal is to buy these items. These are not all SEO mistakes, but I found that these are the main mistakes my clients made before they participated in Kanga Internet. Good luck to you and all the best in your search engine optimization work.
