Text Links Strategic Outlook
We all know that incoming links are an essential element to make a good domain name or web page ranking in every major search engine. However, there is still a lot of debate about which text link strategy a website should adopt.
• Should I buy links from domains with high rankings on Google Pages?
• Should I use normal link switching or 3-way link switching?
• How to adopt more offensive strategies, such as blog spam?
•Does my text link need to come from a unique Class C IP address?
•How often should I change the anchor text?
These are all about the current issues. If you are a marketing website with a limited life cycle, then these are the issues you should consider. However, what if you are marketing a website that needs to be ranked in the next few years?
Think like a search engine
to predict the future of search engines may want what the key is to start thinking like that. Once you have this mentality, it is not difficult to understand what strategy you should adopt.
A quick fact to remember:
Google, Yahoo, and MSN are all businesses. They are designed to make money, and if they don’t make money, shareholders are responsible.
All three of them make money by advertising in search results.
None of these engines are happy with your and me trying to manipulate their algorithms.
0-This is the money each engine makes when you decide to “rank yourself” instead of buying their ads.
With these simple facts, we can make powerful inferences. Search engines must do everything they can to make it difficult for you to manipulate their algorithms if they are to succeed in business. There are actually two main reasons for this. One is the fact mentioned above. If it is easy to manipulate their algorithms and “rank yourself”, why bother to advertise with them or bid high on keyword phrases? The second reason is that if an engine is easily manipulated, the relevance will be affected.
The relevance of the engine determines how many people will use it repeatedly. Among the three major search engines, MSN has the lowest relevance and the least traffic, which is no coincidence. Yahoo is the second most relevant search engine and the second most popular search engine.
By thinking like a search engine, you can see their entire business model is how manipulated
the result is
that we can learn to what?
The best search engines are always actively trying to block any “loophole” so that owners manipulate their
algorithms
look past that are no longer effective technology.
• meta tags filled
• Comments tab key
• Repeatedly duplicate content keywords
• Stealth (largely)
• FFA pages
this list could go on.
Step back
step back, one of the oldest forms of reverse link building inspection.
Link exchange
at its core, link exchange involves you placing a link to another site on your domain, typically on a links page, and another
in return, the site will give you a link back. This practice has existed for many years, and in fact there are thousands of people
that you can quickly join thousands of programs.
Now please remember everything I mentioned, if you were a search engine, would you be excited about it? The answer is you won’t. You will realize that your algorithm relies heavily on measuring the popularity of backlinks, and you will find that these programs are a major “vulnerability” in manipulating algorithms. Google has taken measures to solve this problem, so this approach is mainly effective only for Yahoo and MSN.
If you are taking a long-term approach, why use technologies that you are sure will be eliminated in the near future?
Over time, the following practices will definitely stop benefiting you in major search engines:
• Large-scale link exchanges
• Internet networks
• Site-wide links
• Sub-domain networks
• Copy content pages/domains
• Off-topic links
• high PR topic
• directory spam
• spam blog
infer future
by understanding what a search engine is how it works, as well as its overall goal is, we can easily deduce what is backlink
strategy might work in the future. Reading their latest patents is also a great help. In the foreseeable future, backlinks will become an important factor in search engine algorithms. Knowing this, we only need to obtain such backlinks, and will not lose their power when the search engine adjusts the algorithm.
Long-term advice: The
network is becoming more and more fragmented. You will need to get only backlinks from related websites. It is
a search engine never relevant links to enhance your ranking site is illogical, so do not waste your time to collect
them. Ask yourself; get 500 links from highly relevant to your site or domain harder to obtain 5000 links from unrelated site
location? Anyone who enters the link exchange program knows the answer to this question, and so do search engines. Google is already taking action, and others will follow.
Collect as many one-way links as possible. If most of your backlinks are generated through mutual link exchanges, what will this tell search engines? A search engine must assume that your content does not have enough value for other webmasters to link to it naturally, or your content is not as valuable as other sites with one-way links. If most of the backlinks of a website are due to an exchange or affiliate link, would you want to rank it high? Of course not, this will make your search engine more convenient.
Put your links in high-value areas. For search engines, it is quite easy to determine the different areas of the website. Most websites have a header section, a navigation section (usually at the top or left), a main content section, and a footer section. Where do you think the most common link spam appears? You guessed it, after the footer part and the navigation. You will start to see that links in low-value areas are decreasing, while links in high-value areas (such as the main content part of the website) are being promoted. There have been several search engine patents related to this topic, the most important of which is MSN’s block-level analysis.
Don’t betray yourself. I was surprised how many people will buy the sponsors or advertisers zone text links
on a website. Unless you buy links just for traffic, this is a terrible idea. Doing so is just asking search engines to discount the links in this section. Why did they give you a link to credit and you told them you paid? Pages with names such as “links.html” or “supployers.html” are also obvious targets.
Open up your own backlinks. Stay away from large link networks. Buying and getting links from the same inventory pool that everyone else is using will only make your efforts more obvious. Spammers will show very similar backlink patterns in your website category, so please make sure that your backlinks are not related to them.
Be careful with most link proxy sites. Many brokers will actually display the URL of the website they sell the link to. If you can see the URL, search engines can also see it. Many times, even if an agent does not display the exact URL, they will provide data, such as the Alexa ranking of the site. How difficult is it for search engines to perform a reverse search based on the website’s Alexa ranking? Brokers are also accustomed to putting text links and many other links in a link box. This is “unnatural” for search engines, especially when many of these links are not closely related.
Summary:
Quality is better than quantity and will win out in the end. In the next few years, all search engines will tighten the lasso of backlinks. For them, the obvious manipulation of allowing a large collection of backlinks is simply bad for them. Google has the lead, while MSN and
Yahoo certainly will soon catch up.
You need to start positioning your website for these inevitable changes. Skip link exchanges, massive catalog submissions, site-wide links, link networks, and off-topic links altogether. It is only a matter of time until these technologies no longer help your website. Put your link in the main content area of the website, and make sure that your link does not appear in low-value parts like the footer, and that your link is not marked as an advertisement. Conversely, if you are a search engine, concentrate on collecting links that you will value. Find a way to get links from the top hundreds of websites for your keyword phrases. These and other classified links will show search engines that your site is respected in your own community. If you follow these simple tips now, you will achieve long-term ranking success, while others can only scramble to enter the PPC when their 50,000 unrelated backlinks are no longer valid.
